WHY?
Currently, many health insurance plans cover services such as abortion, abortifacients, birth control, sterilization, IVF, surrogacy, and gender transition treatments or surgeries, often with no out-of-pocket costs.
This is in stark opposition to Christian values. Healthcare, which originated from the Christian commitment to caring for others, has been taken over by forces that provide these immoral services in the name of healthcare.
As Christians, we must strive to offer solutions that align with our beliefs. Employers who offer such plans may inadvertently be paying for services that conflict with their moral and ethical values.
Solution
We have developed a health insurance plan designed for Catholic-led businesses and nonprofits, which specifically excludes immoral services.
In addition, the plan includes distinctly Catholic benefits, such as coverage for Natural Family Planning and access to Catholic doctors and counselors via the MyCatholicDoctor Telehealth network.
The Kingdom Healthplan - the antidote to sterile and impersonal healthcare.
Availability
The Kingdom Health Plan is available NATIONWIDE in all 50 states. Minimum group size varies by state, but in many states is 10 employees.
PLAN STRUCTURE
Kingdom Health Plan is a self-funded plan, governed by ERISA. Large groups (over 100 employees) frequently use self-funded plans, while smaller groups (under 100 employees) may use level-funded plans, which mimic fully insured plans but with added stop-loss insurance to mitigate risk.
For smaller groups, self-funding may seem risky, but our plans are actuarially calculated. Stoploss insurance protects employers from large aggregate claims or significant single claims.
In the small group space, these plans are structured to operate like traditional fully insured plans from the employer and employee perspectives.
Behind the scenes, our plan utilizes the resources of third-party administrators to handle claims processing, a stop-loss carrier for large claims protection, and a pharmacy benefit manager to process pharmacy claims.
Network
We will primarily use the Cigna network, though alternative networks may be available in regions where Cigna is not suitable.
insurance or Health sharing
No. We use traditional insurance models, operating under Federal ERISA and state insurance laws, and are licensed by the Department of Insurance in each state where we operate.
Individual Coverage
Our focus is currently on group health insurance. However, a new pro-life insurance company, Presidio Care, will launch in Texas in 2025. We plan to offer their product to individuals in the future.
TIMING
While many businesses renew health plans on January 1, about two-thirds of small businesses use different renewal dates throughout the year. Our plan can be implemented at any time, and we will credit deductible and out-of-pocket maximums to ensure a seamless transition for employees.
Benefits Brokerage
No, we are a benefits brokerage, or sometimes referred to as an insurance agency.
